What is Manual Osteopathic Therapy?
Osteopathic therapy is a gentle, hands on, non-invasive therapy that addresses the body’s structure and function holistically. The goal of osteopathic therapy is to restore balance and encourage the self-healing and self regulating processes of the body by treating imbalances in the bones, soft tissue, nervous, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, circulatory, and reproductive systems.
Osteopathic therapists recognize the interconnectedness of the structures and systems of the body and how imbalances in one area can affect others, aiming to address the underlying cause of pain and dysfunction, not just the symptoms. This includes the underlying physical, emotional, psychological, and energetic factors involved.
Osteopathic therapy has been shown to decrease pain, improve blood and nerve supply, improve mobility, reduce stress, and promote balance of the central nervous system which encourages the body as a whole to function well.

How does osteopathic therapy work?
Our bodies possess an incredible capacity to heal. Osteopathic therapists are trained to listen deeply to the body and can identify where tension patterns are being held. Using gentle techniques the body is supported and encouraged to release, realign and restore balance on its own. Tissue changes occur on a cellular level with new neural pathways being formed as tissues release and return to a more balanced state.
